Dear Author:

 

I have decided to step away from BETA and ARC reading at this time. The reason is it consumes a great deal of my time as I’m a slow reader. When I am BETA/ARC reading, I look at the story in a completely different light. I am more in tune with focusing on every aspect of the author’s work; subsequently, it takes even more time for me to finish a project.

 

There is also a certain amount of pressure that accompanies BETA and ARC reading, with the biggest factor being time. Most authors want their story read and reviewed in a certain amount of time, and my nature is to put your project ahead of what I need to focus on and complete. This sets me behind on my dreams and goals with each project I agree to review because it’s difficult for me to say no; ultimately, I want you to succeed with the story you asked me to review.

 

As of June 1, 2025, I am taking steps to free up more of my time to pursue art and complete some of my writing projects and publish them.

 

Even though I am declining to read your project, I do believe in you and the great story you are working on to get out to the world. Unfortunately, my time is limited, and I must decline reading your work at this time.
